Annual report.

Excerpt from President’s report: It is my pleasure to present Volunteering Qld’s Annual Report 10-11 detailing our achievements over the past 12 months.

We started the year with a renewed optimism and belief that 2011, as the United Nations International Year of Volunteers + 10, would be a remarkable time to both reflect on the past decade and indeed to advance volunteering in Queensland. Little did we know then that the year ahead of us would be, in many ways, remarkable, challenging and exciting all at once.

In a year when we took a good, hard look at the way Volunteering Qld could step up and meet new challenges, we decided that our mission as a lead agency should have a broad and sustainable brief. For a long time now, Volunteering Qld has been a staunch advocate for inclusive participation in Queensland through better recognition of the volunteering effort, increased research, sector development and partnerships all coming together to create and sustain vibrant and healthy communities.

The report before you catalogues an extensive range of achievements and initiatives that Volunteering Qld is proud to present and share with you.
