The Parkinson’s Unity Walk is a grassroots community event. It aims to raise funds for important research on Parkinson’s as well as increasing the support services for people living with Parkinson’s and their families and carers.
It is a meaningful and healthy event for people from all walks of life. The Unity Walk will be held on Sunday 9 September and it’s a leisurely 4km stroll from New Farm Park to Teneriffe and back.
How can you help?
You can work as a volunteer at the event in order to show your support! People from all ages who are friendly, energetic and committed are welcomed. There are several volunteer positions for you.
Registrations // Crowd control and getting late registrations + handing out the t-shirts and info bags.
Raffles // Selling raffle tickets for the two raffles (each with several prizes) and working on the raffle stalls.
Food Stalls // Selling tickets and/or serving on the sausage sizzle or drinks and cupcakes stall.
Help // Positioned along the walk for encouragement and any help that is needed - there will be two St John’s Ambulance officers stationed near the rotunda.
They are also looking for volunteers who could get there early to help set up and others who could arrive later to help pack up.
