Youth Volunteering: Increasing engagement and participation

This policy paper represents Left Right Think Tank’s initial findings and recommendations into improving the level of engagement and participation of young people in volunteering in Australia.

The policy outlines three key areas which they believe require the immediate attention of government and the broader community. The three identified areas of research, incentives and skills development, are all inter-linked and require a coordinated approach in order to achieve the greatest impact.

The implementation of their three recommendations will lead to a greater understanding of the importance and impact of youth volunteering and help to changing young people’s negative perceptions of engaging in their communities through volunteering.
