Create It Up

Create It Up explored how creative processes could be introduced into not-for-profit settings. In collaboration with the Queensland Academy for Creative Industries, a workshop was developed for non-profit representatives and community practitioners.

“I think today really gave me some really good ideas about how we can incorporate creativity into the way we work every day. Having these kinds of exercises where you brainstorm ideas or you think outside the box inside meetings to really inspire people and engage them and make them realise that we are trying to create a different future for ourselves... to do that we need to think in different ways.”

Hannah Elvery, Bulimba Creek Catchment

During the workshop, students used various media, presentation styles and innovative activities, which represented creative practice in its own right. The workshop inspired participants to start thinking and acting more creatively in their work. They found the workshop rewarding, informative, interesting, interactive, relevant and fun. Most importantly, they were able to translate the workshop content and activities into practice.
