Designed for volunteers and their journey serving on Committees and Boards

Help for your Governance journey no matter your level of experience

My Governance Journey has been designed to help you enjoy the experience of volunteering in a governance role in an organisation that means something to you. It provides starting-level information about questions you’re likely to have regarding your roles on small volunteer, not-for-profit organisations.

It is not designed to be everything you need to know, but it will get you started.

Many volunteers serve many different organisations over their volunteering career, taking the skills they learn from one experience forward to the next.  My Governance Journey provides help across this volunteering lifecycle.  There’s something here for you regardless of your experience level – whether you’re still considering joining, are just getting started, if you’re experienced and are now stepping up to take on more leadership roles, or if you’re preparing to handover and invite new people to join your organisation’s governance.

It has been designed so that you can go at your own pace and dip in and out of topics as you are ready.  It enables you to build your knowledge as you become more familiar with governance roles and has links to stacks of other resources that share more detailed information for you.
