On Wednesday 11 October, Volunteering Queensland held its Annual General Meeting (AGM) in which we elected our new Board members for 2018.

We would like to extend a very warm welcome and congratulations to new board and re-elected members Damien Edmonds, Natasha Doherty and Jane Hedger.  At this time we also bid farewell to board members Elizabeth Stewart and Carlton Meyn and thank them for their hard work, support and commitment to Volunteering Queensland.

Damien Edmonds

During his 20 year career, Damien has launched and managed a range of successful brands and businesses in Australia and the UK, holding senior marketing and business development positions. With his dual marketing and business development experience, he is passionate about combining marketing and business development strategies to improve an organisation’s performance, in particular strategic visioning for change.


Natasha Doherty

Natasha is a partner with Deloitte Access Economics and leader of Deloitte’s policy and program evaluation and practice. She works across the public sector, predominately in health and social policy. Natasha is passionate about evidence based policy and practice and has led a number of evaluations for Commonwealth and state based reforms across health, community services, funding reform and the innovation agenda.


Jane Hedger

Jane has a strong background in change management, communication, and organisational, workforce and leadership and transformation. Her extensive experience spans across both government and the not-for-profit sector. Jane has a passion for a wide-ranging knowledge and involvement in leading organisations in areas of board strategy and governance, strategic planning, policy, grant writing and funding partnerships. She believes that volunteering is about giving back to our community in a meaningful and useful manner.


The evening was an opportunity for members and non-members to come together to acknowledge and celebrate the achievements over the past year. Special thanks to BDO and all our great volunteers who have generously contributed their time to help us attain our vision and mission.
