Jasmine is a happy student who already has been volunteering every weekend at Lifeline on Saturday for two and half years in a variety of roles. Further to this, Jasmine really enjoyed her volunteering log hours at Anam Cara Aged Care Home where she assisted with the elderly in running activities and conversing with the residents. With a number of conditions impeding her learning, she has shown determination and persistence. Jasmine really enjoys communicating with others no matter what their background is.
The feedback from her placement has been nothing but praise. She helped people by packing things for them and getting food and drinks for the residents. During this time she learnt from the residents and customers that you need to keep working at your job to get better. You also have to be patient not to rush the residents and to treat everyone equally.
"Jasmine should be congratulated for the amount of effort she has put into this course over the past two years and has displayed to me what is possible when a student with a disability puts their mind to achieving a goal" - Bruce Dawes, Inclusive Education Trainer/Program Manager, Bray Park State High School
For the future Jasmine would like to obtain paid employment but to continue to help others. She also plans to travel, but at her heart she enjoys helping the community and will continue to do good deeds. We wish her well in her future endeavors.
Congratulations on being our SAAVI Student of the Term 3, 2018. For her efforts, Jasmine was presented the SAAVI Student Term Award and a $50 Gift Card.
