Townsville Floods 2019 - Volunteers Urgently Required
Queenslanders have always been there to help one another when times are tough and Townsville needs you NOW!!
150-200 volunteers are required daily for the urgent coordinated clean-up commencing in Townsville this Wednesday 13 February.
Townsville residents or those living in neighbouring regions unaffected by the floods and able to help with both the immediate clean-up and/or longer-term recovery in Townsville and other affected communities are asked to register on the EV CREW Emergency Volunteering website Register to Volunteer link.
Once registered, we will send you an email about the shifts available in the coming days. Please choose shifts that you are available to assist with. If you are able to assist, we will provide details to you on dates, timings and what to wear once you are allocated a shift.
These activities will be coordinated by Team Rubicon and Volunteering Queensland will be supporting the recruitment and rostering of all registered volunteers. The floods have impacted more than 20,000 homes and this will be a mammoth task for Townsville residents, therefore we urge all available Queenslanders to register today.
If you are unable to volunteer your time, you can still contribute to the Flood Appeal by contacting the Australian Red Cross, Uniting Care, Salvation Army, St Vincent’s de Paul and Givit.
At this crucial time, we also encourage you to listen to local authorities in regard to how best support affected communities during immediate and long term recovery.
