Deception Bay Flexible Learning Centre student, Candice is joint winner of SAAVI Student of the Term 1 and 2 combined 2020 and is currently undertaking the CHC24015 Certificate II in Active Volunteering through our Students as Active Volunteers Initiative (SAAVI).
Candice has always demonstrated a commitment for looking after animals. With this enthusiasm, she was one of the first to return to her volunteering role at RSPCA Dakabin after the COVID-19 isolation period. She has also previously volunteered at Australia Zoo.
During her studies, Candice has improved her confidence in herself and her ability to mix with other people. For Candice's peers she has become a great role model who demonstrates a passionate approach to ensure the health and safety of all animals. She has shown great leadership when she has helped train new volunteers.
"Candice is a pleasure to have at our shelter. She is dedicated, reliable and always has a positive attitude. She is willing to learn anything new so that she can be as much help as possible." RSPCA Dakabin
Campus Minister Brother Talty commends Candice for overcoming personal obstacles and being able to manage the priorities in her life to fully participate in these roles.
Candice looks forward to volunteering well into the future and wants to continue to work with animals.
We wish Candice all the best for her future and congratulate her on being joint SAAVI Student of the Term 1 and 2 combined 2020. For her efforts, Candice was presented the SAAVI Student of the Term Award and a $50 Gift Card.
