Volunteer Managers Network (Logan)

Volunteer Managers Network Meetings (VMNMs) are an opportunity for managers and coordinators of volunteers to meet and discuss our challenges and success stories collaboratively in order to learn from each other and improve our engagement of volunteers.

Topic: Engaging Young Volunteers

Guest Speaker: Jackie Choquenot, Students as Active Volunteers Initiative Coordinator, Volunteering Queensland and SAAVI School representatives

Today’s young people are the future of volunteering and have a lot to offer community organisations. Volunteering is also a great way for young people to get valuable experience that will help them to obtain employment and enhance their career opportunities.

Young people sometimes face barriers to entering volunteering by not being able to find roles that accept volunteers under the age of 18.

This Volunteer Manager Network Meeting will discuss examples of successful volunteer placements of young volunteers and ways to overcome barriers to engaging youth volunteers.

Volunteering Queensland is also planning a Youth Volunteering Mini-Expo in Logan in the future and we would love to discuss your interest in participating.

Afternoon tea will be supplied.

Please register as places are limited.
