National Volunteer Week Grants
Small Grants Initiative
Thank you to 450 volunteer organisations who applied for up to $500 to host appropriate and responsible COVID safe events for volunteers. Activities include welcome back functions, professional development programs and initiatives to increase volunteer participation.
Due to overwhelming interest from volunteer organisations in the NVW Small Grants Initiative, the Minister for Communities and Minister for Disability Services and Seniors, the Hon. Coralee O'Rourke MP, expanded the grants for 2020. The increase in funding was in acknowledgement of the difficult year it has been for the volunteering sector and appreciation that volunteer organisations are crucial to Queensland’s unite and recover activities.
Congratulations to the 31 volunteer organisations in the first round and 30 organisations in the additional round who were successful in receiving a grant. Together they will share in $30,000.
